RUSSIA SAYS “NYET” to Muslim jihadists who want to throw anti ‘Islamophobia’ rally in Moscow.

On the other hand, perhaps this would be a good way to round them all up and put them in prison until after the Sochi Olympics, which Muslims have declared their intention to disrupt, as they have with multiple suicide, train station, & bus bombings in the just past few weeks (see links below).

Moscow Times (h/t Margaret C) City Hall plans to turn down a petition by Muslim activists to hold a rally “against Islamophobia and Caucasus-phobia” on Manezh Square, a Moscow security official said. (Caucasus is a predominantly Muslim area of Russia)

Russia’s Health Minister Tatyana Golikova has said at least 39 people have been killed, 18 are missing and more than 90 are being treated in hospital. But death toll is still unclear. The train was carrying 661 passengers in 13 carriages and four of them were damaged, Russian railways said.

The area “doesn’t have the conditions for holding mass actions,” the city’s regional security department head Alexei Mayorov said, adding that an official ruling would be issued later, Interfax reported. Rally organizers said in their petition, filed Monday, that they expected the event to attract 1 million people, Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.

The meeting’s rejection follows news that of one of the rally organizers — Dagestani activist Mukhammad Magomedov — saying that security officials charged him last week with “participating in an extremist group,” and banned him from leaving his native region. The charges carry a punishment of up to two years in prison.

Magomedov said the case stemmed from some of his comments, which he declined to specify, that he made at a conference titled “The Problems of Islam in Russia,” held in Moscow in 2012, Russian News Service reported.

Two Muslim female suicide bombers blew themselves up on crowded metro trains in the Russian capital Moscow killing 37 people and injuring 70.

Magomedov is a member of Dagestan’s Union of the Just organization, which, its supporters said, was founded to ”protect the rights of the Muslim population of the republic,” Kavkazsky Uzel reported earlier. The group is also involved in organizing public celebrations of Muslim holidays in Dagestan.

The derailment is Russia’s worst train accident for several years and represents a surge in attacks by Muslim jihadists from the North Caucasus.

Another Russian region, Tatarstan, became the first of Russia’s republics to celebrate the Muslim holiday of Mawlid Al-Nabi, the birthday of the prophet Mohammed, on Sunday, Tatarstan’s Muslim Spiritual Council said, Interfax reported. The celebrations were held in the town of Bolgar, the capital of the ancient Volga state that adopted Islam in 922.
