FRENCH police today admitted they were "powerless" to prevent thousands of migrants attempting to enter Britain illegally.

The border crisis is now so severe one officer shrugged, saying: "We are overstretched and there is not much we can do."
Experts estimate as many as 12,000 refugees make a bolt for Britain through Calais each year.
Today the Daily Express witnessed chaotic scenes as gangs of vagrants risked their lives attempting to jump on the back of moving freight trucks.
The migrant epidemic is now so bad officials believe at least 30 attempts to make it to the UK as stowaways every day.
The 2,000 who have congregated in the port town from a variety of countries including Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Eritrea and Ethiopia outnumber police by 285-to-one.
One exasperated officer said the blue line policing the perimeter of the port is so thin border guards are overrun by the migrant tide.
Giving the first detailed account from the front line of the fight, the unnamed officer aid: "There are just two or three patrols - just seven of us maximum - and hundreds of them trying to get to the UK. We are powerless to do anything.

"If they are arrested and questioned they always blame someone else because they know they will be released in a couple of hours to try again.
"They all want to go to Britain. They wait until there is a traffic jam at the ferry terminal approach gates and take their chance to jump on the back of lorries.
"You can see them crouching on the grass bank. And, yes, some are successful."
The public holiday next week will see the situation worsen as scores try to take advantage of chaos on roads around the terminal.
Today the port was awash with migrants who have fled war-ravaged countries like Sudan to try their luck as stowaways.
At lunchtime, a hooded group of five men and a woman spent an hour hugging the dual carriageway at the port entrance.

They eyed up each passing lorry, carefully assessing its speed, before leapfrogging a barrier in a bid to cling to the vehicle.
Incredibly, despite security being beefed up, migrants are free to walk into the port environs via a freight truck entrance.
The Daily Express watched them clamber up a grass bank and crouch behind a concrete flyover, just yards from the terminal entrance.
They were eventually moved on by police but one smiling Sudanese man, who has been in Calais for a month, said: "We'll be back in an hour to try again."
The Home Office said "physical security" was being strengthened with £400,000 of thermo-detection cameras and enhanced perimeter fencing.
More than £3million has already been spent upgrading vehicle scanning equipment, while extra sniffer dogs have been deployed in response to the growing crisis.
But the multiplying army of migrants at a makeshift camp in the shadow of the port - dubbed "Jungle II" - are undeterred by the Anglo-French show of strength.

The lure of a new life in Britain sees them congregate in squalor with men, women and malnourished children living among disease in filthy tarpaulin tents.
Beleaguered Calais deputy mayor Philippe Mignonet is so infuriated by the perceived lack of action from London he said: "We want the border to be moved from Calais to Dover and Folkestone for one month so Britain understands how difficult the problem is."
He said the migrant bottleneck in Calais had been caused by the arrival of thousands who think if they make it across the Channel they can "live like kings".
He added: "They might leave with £3 but when they arrive in England they can make £50-a-week on the black market. England is too attractive, it's too easy. They have nothing to lose - except their lives."
Today a Home Office spokesman said: "Security of the border is our priority and basing UK immigration controls in France enables us to stop illegal migrants before they reach our shores.
"We have already bolstered security in Calais, upgrading technology and equipment and are increasing joint intelligence work with the French."
Once upon a time The English were a very proud nation, Vera Lynn sang there'll always be a an England, way back in the 1940's, and in those days no one doubted that there would never be an England, because in the 1940's they were to busy fighting in the 2nd world war for our freedom. In the 1980's Kate Bush released an album called Lionheart, one track on the album/cd is called Oh England My Lionheart, well i'm affriad the lion of England died a long time ago.
It was during the 80's that all the immigrants started coming over, and when Tony Blair became Prime Minster England took a drastic nosedive Millions of Muslims were coming over, and then Gordon Brown became Prime Minster, and he to brought over thousands upon thousands of Muslims and Africans, and today in 2014, the indigenous White people are now the minority in England, and the children growing up today are going to be under Islam when they get older. England will be under Sharia law, and life won't be worth living. Muslims have already took over London. Birmingham. Leicester. and Bradford, and many more towns and cities, like Manchester and Rochdale.
The Labour party and the Conservatives have destroyed England, they have i've our country over to the Muslims, and now thousands more want to come over from France, either round them up and ship them back to Africa or shoot them, simple as that. Blair and Brown should hang for what they have done. The children have to learn about Islam in the schools, they are forced to visit Mosques, and they are taught sex lessons from the age of 5, this is all because of the Muslims, and the people are waking up now, and i am hoping it's not to late.
